Why are you using the author’s username when I use %author%? A username might be anything, it’s no guarantee that it’s firstnamelastname. It says it’s a “sanitized version of the author’s name”, but it’s not, it’s just the username.

    I’d like %author% to generate firstname-lastname.

    Hi @markuskylberg,

%author% is the default WordPress tag which I have used in my plug in.

As you want first name and last name in the permalinks. So, i’ll add the new tags for you by which you can make your desired permalink.

    Thanks,
    Sami

    Hi @markuskylberg,

I have added the New tags to use User First name and User Last Name

    1. %author_firstname%

If you want the Author’s First Name so, you can use this tag. If Author’s first name is not available so it uses the Author’s Username.

    2. %author_lastname%

If you want the Author’s Last Name so, you can use this tag. If Author’s last name is not available so it uses the Author’s Username.

These Tags have been added in the latest version of plugin 0.3.7.

I hope, this would done your job.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.

    Thanks,
    Sami
