    Hi,

It seems like WordPress versions are not restored with a UpdraftPlus restoration.

    Am I right?

If yes, why not? Why is this not implemented? There must be good reasons, I am pretty sure.

How could you achieve then to have the WP version restored, which you had before you did a backup, then a WP update and a restoration.

    Thx, Markus

    Hi Markus,

The free version of UpdraftPlus is not able to backup the WordPress core files, only the content of the site (i.e. the database and the contents of the ‘wp-content’ directory).

This is a feature in our paid version of UpdraftPlus. Please see our site for more details: https://updraftplus.com

Otherwise, you can reinstall an older version of WordPress (available from the release archive), then restore the backups.

    Thank you for your reply.

So, I don′t have to worry – because Plugins, Themes, Uploads, Database will always be possible to be restored?

What is meant by “Other”? If I restore, it always lists a checkbox “Other”.

One more thing, concerning trust in this tool.
I read, that, if a database does not contain a prefix, it won′t be possible to restore it with UpdraftPlus. Is this true?

Best regards and thank you in advance,
    Markus

Does this mean, that Plugins, Themes, Uploads, Database will always be restorable also with the free version?

In the beginning of the restore procedure, there is a checkbox “Other” – what exactly does it mean?
