.ppt, .pptx, .docx ‘not permitted for security reasons’

There are two ways to override this. The easy way is adding the following line into your wp-config.php

define('ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS', true);

You can add the above line of code in the wp-config.php file just above the following statement.

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

If this doesn`t fix your issue, you better get in touch with your hosting provider as many hosts don’t support various types of files to be uploaded to the server due to security issue.

I’ll get in touch with my host and see if they can look into it.

.mp3 and excel also don’t upload. It looks like it’s because of the update

You can write a few lines of code to add those file types:

Update I can reproduce this on my own site and am checking on whether this is a bug, intentional, or something else.
