How to remove main-navigation-container code from pages

So, I’m running 4.7.1, hosted by GoDaddy and currently have the Primer theme selected, having created a child theme folder and pointed (is that the phrase?) my site at the created child.

Some tutorial, one of the many I’ve got snowblind looking at, did point at header.php, saying there would be <nav> tags within. Only, there aren’t any. <header> tags, yes. <nav> tags, there are none.

There is a line, in header.php, that says, do_action( ‘primer_header’ ) and one after that says to do ‘primer_after_site_header_wrapper’. Are they clues?
