I decided to move my website from wordpress.com to self-hosted with Bluehost as I wanted to have more control over my website.

I followed all the steps for transferring my website from .com to .org but when I go to log into my new site as admin, following the instructions from Bluehost, it just redirects me back to the wordpress.com dashboard.

I feel like I’ve tried everything and just cannot log into my .org dashboard to import everything from my old site.

    Please help!

  • This is unrelated to all-in-one migration. Your database needs to be updated.

    * Log into your cpanel and go to PHPmyadmin
    * Click on the database that’s associated with your website.
    * go to wp-options and under option_name, look for siteurl and home.
    * make sure the URLs there have right URL.

It could also be that your DNS settings haven’t yet fully propagated. It takes 24 hours and is dependent on when your ISP dumps your old DNS cache.

Bluehost has a pretty good live chat support. They can walk you through it if you’re not comfortable with the above.

    Hi notcentralfashion,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Have you tried to login with the credentials from your exported site?
