Hey, I was wondering why MC4WP is not adding emails to my MailChimp list.
It has several fields, but the only one requiere to subscribe is email. So I think I don’t need to configure each field and ad the prefix “mc4wp-FIELDNAME”.

Apparently all is well setting, as I receive a “success message” in the log section. So, I’m thinking that is a hosting issue (?)

Could you tell me, what could be wrong?
    kind regards

    Hello,

Can you please go to the “MailChimp for WP > Others” menu in your WordPress admin and let us know if any errors are listed?

    Hi, Harish

I already talked with your team and apparently all is Ok. I have not any error message in the log section (“MailChimp for WP > Others”). Also your team mate tried and he was successful added to the list.

    The problem could be:
    – Mailchimp hates me
    – All of my e-mails are banned from my own list (for several tries)
    – My ip is banned

So what I gonna do next is: Ask to some of my friends to try to subscribe from different locations and emails.

    Thanks your your advises.

    Hi,

The logs you shared do not provide much information, so hard to debug from it. Do you have any other email address that you can try?

    Thread Starter 2players

    (@2players)

I could try with a different email, and a new MC accaount to see what happens.

Mayby you can clarify, its about the MC process – so I don’t expect you answer that.

    1. The user fills the form in my page
    2. My hosting send data to Mailchimp in order to register the user’s email
So far so good, I receive the success message in log section (under “other” panel in MC4WP)

Here is where I don’t know what happens

Mailchimp sends the “confirmation email” directly to user or Mailchimp communicates, again, with my hosting and my hosting sends the confirmation email????? Do you know how it works??? I already asked to MC, but not response TT___TT

I’m asking ‘because everything seems to be ok, but the final step is the problem. The user never get the confirmation email.

After more than 30 emails with MailChimp here is a different response…

    Hello Nahuel,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand your subscribers are not receiving a confirmation email.

I took a look at the account and it looks like the issue is with the way the signup form’s double opt-in is working with API calls.

We are currently aware of an issue with some double opt-in “pending” API calls not sending confirmation emails to subscribers and our developers have been notified. While we do not have an estimated time for this to be resolved by right now, it is being addressed and worked on.

Due to the Compliance state of the account, all subscribers added through API calls with a “pending” status will not be sent a confirmation email. A workaround you can try would be to switch to single opt-in API calls with a “subscribed” status. This should allow confirmation emails to be sent to subscribers.

If you are comfortable doing this yourself or if you have a developer who can do it for you, these API Docs will be helpful:

    API Docs: https://developer.mailchimp.com/documentation/mailchimp/reference/overview/

The “status”: “pending” part of the calls will need to be something like “status”: “subscribed”.

If you do not have a developer and are looking for help, you can hire someone from our Experts Directory to help you with that:

    Experts Directory: https://experts.mailchimp.com/

If you have any other questions, I would be happy to answer them for you. Have a nice day.
    Thank You,
    Mady”

UPDATE: A new account, with a different email fixed the problem.

Now, I’ll wait next week to see if they can solve the issue. If not, I’ll move all mi info to a new account. I am worried about what will happen when I enter the email that I’m currently using.

    Hi 2players,

Thank you for keeping us in the loop here. Glad to hear that MailChimp finally shed some light on the issue, hopefully it’ll be fully fixed on their end soon enough. We’ll keep a close eye on things in case there’s anything we can do to help mitigate this in the future.
