This widget would be exactly what I was looking for!

I installed it, and added some widgets to the “Widgets for Menu” area in the Appearance->Widgets section. For testing, I only added a simple Text widget.

Next I thought it would be as easy as going to Appearance->Menus to add this widget to my existing menu structure.

However there is no new “Widgets for Menu” section and therefore no checkboxes as in your screenshot to add a widget to the navigation menu.

Any ideas, what might go wrong?

Did you check the “Screen Options” on the top right of the dashboard? If you click it, it should show a list titled Boxes where one of the checkboxes os for Widgets in Menu. It just could be unchecked.

You hit the nail on the head! That was the root cause. So simple, I feel ashamed.

Anyway, you might want to add it to the quick installation guide, as someone else might oversee this, too.

Many thanks for your help and the great widget!

    Glad it worked out! ??

Thanks for the tip. I’ll do that with the next version.
