not seeing page template dropdown

  • I created a page template with this code in the header:

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: caregivers
    */
    ?>

    I’ve done this with older versions of wordpress but for whatever reason, the drop down in the admin is not showing up. anyone else have this problem? They need to be located in the wp-content/themes/default/ folder, correct? where the header and footer are?

    I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong here.

  • They need to be placed in the folder of the theme you are currently using. I you’re using the default theme then you’ve placed it correctly. However if you have switched themes, then no, putting it in the default folder doesn’t make it available in all themes (WordPress theme work a little different than bbPress themes)

    hey Kaylee, I had this problem the other day. Try re-activating your theme.
