XML Import “Media already exists”

  • This has now happened multiple times so it must an issue with the Export files generated by WordPress.com when importing for www.ads-software.com.

    I understand it’s some kind of server-issue not allowing the script to run long enough before timing out. Usually you can just keep uploading the same file and eventually after several tries it will say “All done have fun”.

    Sometimes however, the XML file given from WordPress.com must be faulty, as it gets stuck and never moves forward. Even if I split the XML file from 2mb to 200kb splits, one of this split files will have the issue where it doesn’t import it.

    How can we fix this for shared hosting servers?

    This is the error I get from the log:

    PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 198780858 bytes) in /hermes/xxxx/xxxx/ipg.xxxx/wp-includes/Requests/Transport/cURL.php on line 413

    Nipefy, try adding this to your php.ini file: memory_limit = 256M ;
