• Require plugin authors to update the Changelog for their plugin. Often, a plugin is updated, and it’d be nice to view the changelog to know what’s changed since my last update. Plugin authors are not always consistent about updating the changelog. Requiring the changelog update would give www.ads-software.com a more professional user experience.

Requiring the changelog update would give www.ads-software.com a more professional user experience.

But it’s not a professional experience. It’s a community effort and requiring that would be burdensome for many authors.

I agree that it’s cool when they do it but it shouldn’t be a requirement. You can always use trac to see a log of the code changes.

Instead of requiring authors to update the changelog, perhaps encourage them to do so? Maybe, a little confirmation reminder, when they update, if they have not updated the changelog, or a redirect after update to the update changelog page?

They are encouraged. We’re finally getting them to edit the tested up to, though, so baby steps.
