Limit number of posts and words on front page and words

  • Hi to all.
    Please help, how to limit the posts number and words on front page , i put maximum number of posts to be shown =10 in admin panel of wordpress. But theme shows about 30 posts on front page.

    Check this option for limit a number of posts
    Settings -> Reading -> Blog pages show at most
    and also select Your latest posts in Front page displays option

    option for limit words on posts
    please add your limited words in excerpts (check in screen option of post) and enable excerpts in theme options like
    Theme options -> Blog -> Posts -> Enable post excerpts
