I love your widget, except I cannot find it sometimes. The name on the right menu bar is different than the plugin name… and so I cannot find it without pecking around. I suggest naming the plugin it to “Content Block” because its more descriptive than “Custom Post Widget.”

I know it as “Content Block” and it’s a far better name than its current name.

    Hi Reginald,

You are absolutely right, the plugin name Custom Post Widget is not a good name since it has developed into much more than a plugin that shows a custom post in a widget.

I have thought about changing the name for a whine, but I have yet to find the best way to do so. I am afraid that if I change the plugin name completely, this will be confusing to current users. I think in the next release I will change the name to Content Blocks (Custom Post Widget) and then after a while drop the custom post widget part completely.

    Thank you for your feedback!

Yeah, I like Content Blocks since it lets you put blocks of content wherever you want. Great for duplicate content on similar pages. To me, this seems like something that could be part of the WordPress core since it’s so useful. But I guess that’s what plugins are for.

I have changed the name to “Content Blocks” now! I am going to keep Custom Post Widget in the name for a while so old users can still find the plugin.

Unfortunately it seems that it is not possible to change the url in the plugin directory, but at least the plugin name is better now.

Johan, That’s by far a better name. Descriptive. I recommend your plug-in to others, when possible, because it’s so useful. I’m sure it will gain greater usage as well.
