Trouble With Font in CSS Style – Not Changing

Alright, I’m definitely having some troubles with my website:
I recently changed the way the font sizes were in my CSS stylesheet to use ‘pt’ instead of ’em’ because I just understand it better. Now I’m having trouble changing certain things:
– Even though everything in my style sheet says ‘sans-serif’, all of the lettering in my site is now showing as serif, which I think is ugly. I can’t seem to change it.
– I can’t seem to change the size of the h1 tags for posts and the sidebar.
If anyone can figure this out, that would be great. Let me know if you need any more information
