Hi Milan,
hope I can explain it for you.
– Your image width should be even
– The left half of the image is for the positive part of the rating; The right half is for the negative part
– You shouldn’t have white space at the top and the bottom of your image
– Try to “center” your image on both halfs
– The sub folders inside the plugin are used for images in different sizes. Subfolder “20” has images inside with a height of 20px and images are loaded from this folder if you set USR star size between 0 and 20. Folder 40 will be used for USR star size between 21 and 40 … The images are different in size because browser up- or downscaling is awful (depending on the browser!).
– It’s the best to start with the biggest image (sub folder 189) because it has the most details and it’s easier to paint
– Try to paint big lines/borders inside your images because if you downsize them they won’t be visible
– 8bit depth should be the best but you can experiment with it
– Place the images inside the custom images folder (can be set inside the admin/settings panel). Use the subfolders.
Afterwards you should be able to select your images inside the settings page
