    Hello,

I tried making a Facebook sidebar widget with a link to my page, however, when I do, it only displays the text under Title and doesn’t display the actual box with the Facebook cover picture and Like buttons. I’ve left the text on the site sidebar so you can see what I mean (the text is ‘Like us on Facebook — all the cool kids are doing it.’ https://butialsohaveadayjob.com)

I tried deactivating all of my plugins (I only a have a few) to see if any of them were the problem, without success. I also checked the Jetpack Settings to ensure that Sharing was enabled, under the Engagement tab.

Any assistance is much appreciated — I’m not sure what else to try!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

The problem is most likely caused by your theme. When checking your site, I noticed that part of the footer was missing.

Did you recently make changes to your theme’s footer.php file, to insert of remove content? If so, could you make sure you didn’t make any changes to the wp_footer() that’s added to that file and allows plugins like Jetpack to inject resources like Facebook’s JavaScript library on your site. As long as your footer is broken, those resources won’t be added to your site and the Likebox won’t work.

To solve this issue, I would recommend that you restore the original version of the theme’s footer.php file. If that helps, you’ll then want to add each one of the changes you’ve made, one at a time, until you find the specific change that breaks your site.

    I hope this helps.

BAM! That did the trick — looks like I accidentally cut out a footer tag. Thanks a million!
