Hello everyone, I would like to know if anyone knows any way to keep the translations added to WooCommerce.

I’m a bit tired of having to update the plugin’s words over and over again when it’s silently updated (which it does from time to time) and when I update it manually.
Between last month January and the current one already takes four updates and ends up tired a little having to translate everything over and over again.
From Loco Translate I do not see how to use the same translation that I have now customized for future updates, there is some way there should be but the question is how? !!

In its day I downloaded the .PO and .MO to restore them after an update and they did not work. I only saw everything in English until I had to delete them to load the untranslated version again and start over again translating word by word .

    Thank you very much!

Check the directory in which your translations are saved; If it’s in wp-content/languages/plugins/, I believe it’ll be update-proof.

    Hi, thanks for your help.
The problem is that once I copied the file from where it is stored and loading it after an update did not work.
    He put everything in English.

Is there no other way to do it?

If not the last remedy I will try again.

Mine is apparently kept where you said it.

    Hi,

I had the same problem when using loco translate, I always ended up losing my custom translation when the plugin updated them. I found that in order to make the translations future proof, you have to add a new translation in Loco, select the language you want (even if it already exists) and select the custom location for the translation languages/loco/plugins/language-name.po

    Hope this helps!

Interesting solution, thank you very much.

So in summary, I save the current translation and when there is a new update of Woocommerce from Loco I add a new translation choosing the path of the translation saved and it will work?

Thank you very much indeed, your proposal makes sense and now to wait for a new update to prove it.

I’m going to give your solution as a complete help, if it does not work, I doubt that if it works for you, it will work for me, we’ll see you around.
    Greetings and see you soon.

Hello good afternoon, apparently last night I again silently updated the language of WooCommerce again.
And I followed your directions and it worked to perfection.
Thank you very much for your great help and support.
