• Used to enjoy this module, now it’s turned into junk. Here goes:

    • After install, you’ll notice the settings page is nearly useless. Every single option just states “Please accept the terms to use this feature”. Cute; how about actually putting text in to explain how one accepts the terms? Want to secretly know what you must do to accept the terms? Apparently it’s authenticate with google. Doesn’t say that anywhere.
    • Add your access code in the box where it says paste your access code? No bueno; just goes back to asking you to accept the terms still.
    • Try clicking the button to authenticate with google? Yep, you guessed it, says “settings saved” and “Please accept the terms to use this feature”. Excellent.
    • Want to really know why nothing is working? Well it’s because Google Chrome, isn’t that ironic, is blocking their module from making your browser access insecure scripts on a different website. Specifically, if you look in Chrome’s URL area just to the left of the bookmark star, you’ll notice a little shield with an X over it. If you click it, you’ll be told:

“This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources.”

Followed by a button that states “Load unsafe scripts”.

Well that’s about as far as I made it in my upgrade of what had been a working module. No, I’m not willing to click a button that says Load unsafe scripts to keep the latest version of the module working; deactivate->remove.

  • Hi @colohost,

Thanks for reaching out and providing feedback. I had a chance to review your feedback with our developer team but they were not able to replicate any of the issues you had mentioned. The unsafe script notice is not related to Google Analytics plugin, usually Chrome shows it if you have mixed secure content on the page (http/https), sometimes even inside Google’s own Gmail it can show up.

If you can email us screenshots of what you’re seeing that would be awesome and we can get to the bottom of this!

In addition, we also recommend checking out our beta version for an updated Google Analytics for WordPress. We believe this could help fix the problem you’re currently experiencing.
