Grungey yet clean-ish WordPress theme with some cool features

I quite like the grungy style. It’s good to see the grungy look in monotone colours. And I quite like the header. The only thing I’m not so keen on is putting them together. The header looks too clean to be with the rest of it — it looks out of place to me. Perhaps you could try incorporating some grunge styling into the header too.

I agree with paul, it is quite nice! But maybe making the header look along the lines of the footer will help it tie in more.

How about now, with a dirtier header? Or were you picturing minus the highlights around the title?

I was sort of picturing without the highlights, but I think it does look better now. Sometimes little details like that can help bring it all together it seems. Still, very nice work!

That has improved the match between header and body immensely. I quite like the highlight around the title; but wonder if it could be achieved with your grungy brush, as if lit up through a dirty lens.

So, I’ve had a go at dirtying up the highlight, but it doesn’t look right to me. It looks a bit plain when I remove it entirely… I think I quite like the contrast of the clean highlight compared to the dirt. Tricky. Maybe it’ll do for now!

Comparing the two, dirty to clean highlight, I think I agree with you Mike, and it does look better clean.

Hey hey, looks good. I love an uncluttered site!
I do have one small issue, and i’m not sure if it’s my browser or the site itself, but it looks a little “thing”, ie, the text is not very wide across the screen. It creates a feeling of “squishyness” that makes it difficult to enjoy.
Still, good site and i look forward to reading your stuff!
