Fatal Error

    Hi,
    I’ve been using your excellent plugin for some time, but the latest version triggers a fatal error, which initially made my site give a 500 error, but after deactivating the plugin and then attempting to reactivate the message is as follows:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/soccer-info/soccer-info-widgets.class.php on line 75

    I have tried commenting out lines 75 to 92, which allows me to activate the plugin, but now the widgets won’t display at all. Example page for this is https://www.awolonline.net/sports/football/english-premier-league but there are several others.

    I would appreciate any help the plugin author or anyone else can give me on this issue.

    I tried rolling back to 1.9.4 but that triggers the same error, so I have now rolled back to 1.9.3 which works, so it is something to do with the code changes in the soccer-info-widgets.class.php file. As no one else has highlighted this error it could be something to do with my site set up, so any help to resolve this would be very much appreciated.

    Hi @awol,
    Please upgrade to 1.9.6 version that should solve your problem.
