    that’s not something I’d want to do, want to play not download

    Hi @wasanajones,

    No – the videos are not downloaded. It’s a bit tricky to describe – the videos are available to add to other posts via the media window AS IF they were in your media library, but:

    What’s going on is, a script looks through your external-videos posts to find each video’s playback info (URL, title, description and thumbnail). Then it puts together a grid of these videos for the Add Media window, similar to the grid of other kinds of attachment thumbnails. When you add a video to posts however (or anywhere you can use the media uploader), what gets added is always just the embed URL for playback, not the video file.
