Facebook links no longer show with WordPress 2.6

  • A strange one this…

    On facebook where you can share a link and you get a thumbnail and text excerpt… on previous version of WordPress this worked like a treat.. Since I upgraded to 2.6 it’s stopped pulling the image and excerpt through..very odd.

    Anyone have the same issue? And, is there a way to resolve?

  • hi, i’m having the exact same problem, have you find a solution?

    I’m having a problem in that I’ve put the Facebook share button on the header of every post on the index, and I’ve verified that the proper URL is in the code, but Facebook consistently grabs the wrong post when I click it. I’m not sure if it’s related.

    I’ve got the same issue, ShareThis says it’s Facebook not scraping the info, but Facebook doesn’t really have any kind of support. I don’t know what the issue is, but I think ShareThis is going to look into it.

    tlobf – yours appears to be working now. It’s pulling title, thumb and excerpt.

    layabozi & gmorehoudh, I would test yours but your URL’s aren’t in your profiles.

    I’ve disabled it on the post index for now, since it doesn’t work and this is a production blog. So it’s kind of hard for other people to test ??

    I also think it must some issue going on with facebook, because i’m still on wp 2.5.1. and it was working well until 2-3 weeks ago.

    Im having this problem too but it only seems to occur sporadically. Has anyone figured out a solution yet?

    I think this may be a WordPress thing because the links that I post on facebook are not recognized by Digg either. I get a message that the link is “invalid”

    I was having this problem in my blog
    Sometimes it showed correctly and sometimes it didn’t. I tried changing the description of a post in the custom fields from 230 to 165 characters and now it’s showing correctly.
