Best BB plugin?

  • I run a sports blog. it is called Steelers Today, and can be found at:

    I would like to add a discussion bulletin board. I have heard of phpBB, vbulletin, miniBB, Simple:Press, and a few others. I have not tried to install any of them.

    My understanding is that most of them are NOT plugins, they are stand alone software. Is this true? If so, how well do they integrate with WordPress?

    I am a sports lover, not a computer guy. I can write about sports and moderate a forum, but if the software is overly complex, it may be too much hassle to be worth my while.

    Any suggestions for a good bulletin board plugin for WordPress? If a plugin is not available, which non-plugin is easy yet effective?

    Any advice or cautions would be appreciated.
