Comment waiting approval message not displayed anymore after you delete comment

    Hello,

    When visitors post a comment they see
    awaiting approval message

    But when you delete the comment, they do not see anymore the awaiting approval message, so they understand that their comment has not been approved.

    Is there any turn around ? The only solution see to let the comment as pending ?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your question. Basically, the issue is that the status of a comment is in the same database entry as the comment. Once you delete the comment, then there is no record of the comment or status of removal. You would need to find a plugin (if there is one) that provides a response before the comment is removed, or speak with a programmer to add one for you. There are several comment moderation plugins such as this one: WordPress Comments Manager which may meet your needs. Check out the WordPress site for the many differents plugins on this topic.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Installing one more plugin just for this purpose doesn’t seem a smart idea.

    So I will keep the comment as pending if I don’t want that the poster knows that his comments has been deleted.
