• To wait Erik take interest again on his nice original plugin, here, my modifications on Github to make it compatible with WPML and fix the API Google error by hardcoding your key in the 2 files modified. Find YOUR_GOOGLE_API_ID_HERE and put yours there.

    => https://github.com/MisterWP/map-my-posts

    Do not hesitate to fork it the solve the trick of hardcoding and check if everything is ok about WPML (for wordpress experts only).

    Hope this project will not die… ??

  • This is awesome, thank you! I wonder, do you know how I can style the geochart? In particular, I want to edit the fill color on hover, and also edit the border color and width.

    Thanks in advance!

    maybe try the “Snazzy Maps” plugin !? and keep it touch if works or not ??

    So that worked a treat, I was able to use the maps function which is better than Geochart, but can’t style (change colour) the map pin / marker. Any ideas?

    Nicolas and page52,
    Thank you so much for keeping this project alive! I love the flexibility of the idea of this map.
    I haven’t been able to get it working smoothly. Hopefully you can help?

    (I forked your Github project, downloaded the folder and manually changed YOUR_GOOGLE_API_ID_HERE to my API in the two modified files. I zipped the folder and uploaded it as a plugin to WordPress.)

    There are two symptoms:
    1) In ‘Posts’, I do not see any way to associate locations with categories or tags although the map is visible within the Posts, Categories section.
    2) Either as a widget or as shortcode the map does not actually appear on my webpage. The name of the maps does though (e.g. “Map of my Posts”).

    Would really appreciate some advice if you see what I am missing ??
    Rafa
