Website becomes unresponsive while creating variables for products

I can’t post a link to site because it is still under construction this issue is occurring while trying to enter products into the store. As far as posting a system report I don’t know how to do that.

Dashboard > WooCommerce > System Status > click the “Get System Report” button, then click “Copy for Support”. Come back here and paste.

“Site locks up when creating variations from product attributes”

Does this happen with a test product with say 3 variations?

It does look like Product Custom Options Lite is the only plugin in your list that has the potential to interfere with the product edit page. Deactivate it temporarily and check.

If the problem is still there, I would try deactivating other plugins and switching to a default theme. Does it happen now?

Should be OK, so reactivate other components one-by-one and test to try to identify the component that is causing the problem.

I tried deactivating all plugs except WooCommerce and switched to Divi theme and at 1450 variation it became unresponsive. The product is a polo shirt with 12colors, 7 sizes, 2 embroidery locations, 3 embroidery colors and 6 fonts as its attributes.

1450 variations is a lot. The most I heard of on this forum is 700. I’m not surprised it became unresponsive at 1450. The practical limit will depend on hardware and connection speed.

There are some ways you might consider to reduce the number of variations

– use the “Any” attribute option when making variations. For example, if I sell T-shirts in red and blue with a choice of 2 logos, that’s 2 x 2 = 4 variations. But if my variations are red/any and blue/any, that’s only 2 variations not 4. The method will scale up. In my example, the logos would have to be all the same price.

– look at:

You can add custom fields to products. Available fields include radio buttons. You could have a simple product with 5 sets of radio buttons, or a combination of variations and radio buttons. Having different prices for different radio button options would require some code. The customer’s choices feed through to cart and checkout.

– look at add-ons plugins. Costs can be assigned to choices without coding. Booster (free) has an add-ons module:

The free version may be a bit limiting but there are other premium add-on plugins you could look at.

All these solutions unfortunately prevent separate SKUs or separate photos.

Best to experiment a bit to see what works for you.
