I am just trying out your plugin on my local development site. Even though the page width is 1200px using the shortcode I only get one column instead of multi columns as per your screenshot. Latest version of WordPress with Suffusion as the theme.

    Site URL?

Local development so no url. What I have found is that top level sections are all one under the other. Sections with sub-sections are showing as two columns even though there is width for four columns. If you definitely need to see this online I will get a dev site online for you to look at. Let me have an email address and I will set you up as a user.

    Is it this theme? https://github.com/sayontan/suffusion

KB uses Responsive Grid System as a base for the columns. You can easily override this with your CSS depending on how you plan to layout the page.

Can you take a look at this in your development site?

OK thanks will do. Yes that is the theme. I have found another little bug in your CSS and will post that on Git for you.

I have sent you a url through the support form on your website as I don’t want to post the url here.

I have posted the page without any custom css at the url/knowledgebase

I’ve implemented the fixes in the Github Repo which will then find their way into the next version of the plugin.

    Thank you for these.

Hello, i know its a free plugin but its does things better as i want it. But i was surprised that it comes in 1 column. Hoping that it had a setting to change that…
The search bar uses the whole width which is goed. Im using The7 template.
Any way or sample how to use 3 columns ?

You can easily override the styles in the base plugin to implement more than one column. The way I have it designed is that you have master categories which come in a single column but the second level categories come in two columns.

You can restyle this using the responsive grid system to style this differently. I’m going to implement some new features to choose different column widths that will end up using different styles.

Well thats weird…i had 2 categories with 2 subs in them but clicking these 2 masters resulted not in a 2 column….the best design would be to have a selector for 2,3 or 4 colums….personally i prefer to use the solutions of the developer….not the custom things i put in…so i assume i get notified when a newer version is available..

What’s your site URL and category view? e.g. screenshot of the admin category page under Knowledgebase

@babylon I found that I couldn’t get the kind of display that I wanted using the grid system employed in this plugin. As a result I created my own template and had my own CSS styling to get exactly what I wanted. What I do miss though is the lack of the search on my own template, I couldn’t be bothered with the additional work to get that coded into the template.

It is indeed a pity that the supplied grid template does not have the options that you and I both need.

@colinsp, what is the template that you’re using?

I’m going to add a couple of style options in the next version

@ajay I coded my own template within my theme and then assigned that template to my KB page.

Hi guys…..what surprises me a bit is that although there’s a big community of free and paid plugins no one actually has a good knowledgebase. I paid $80 together for 2 different KB from developers listed at envato. None of them proved to be good enough. The demo’s always look nice but thats it. Ive seen problems with taxonomy crap, like urls and categories. If there’s a good one i pay $70 or more every year….i dont care….but till this day nothing os that great…and i do appreciate the development of this plugin. Catch is that we never know if it will be continued. And the start of rhis plugin is good but my thoughts are: why no colums in the configuration….? I know i know it’s free…

@babylon, I built this plugin because I wanted to set up a knowledgebase on my site and I couldn’t find something that was simple and worked cleanly. This one does.

I’m adding features as they are asked and am always open to suggestions. As long as I’m going to be around WordPress (13+ years so far) I’m intend to work on this plugin as I need it for my site.

The column configuration is a new request that @colinsp asked for and it will come through. No time frame yet as I build my plugins in my spare time.

This is free, but I’m hoping to be able to monetise it someday.
