Notification Mail at new Posts does not send

    Any ideas why wordpress (hosted by Hetzner.de) does not send notification emails when new comments are posted? I checked the equivalent boxes in the preferences and my mailadress ist correct, there is only one user (admin) who is author of the blog.

    Hello Treesure,

    Sorry that your email notifications don’t seem to work. There are two possibilities that I can think of that may cause emails not to work. By default, WP uses PHP to send mail. If your host’s php.ini file is not configured correctly, OR if for some reason their server security is blocking email then mail will not work. If you are using SMTP protocol (usually setup through a plugin), then you need to check your settings for the outgoing SMTP server and make sure that it is working. In both cases, the best thing for you to do is to work with your web hosting tech support in order to determine what’s causing your emails not to work.

    I hope that helps you more quickly find the source of your email problem!
