• I asked hostgator to restore a backup, unfortunately the last backup they had was not far enough back to bring the website back up to normal and still has the following errors. Is this fixable?

Warning: require(/home/ridenour/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ridenour/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 72

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/ridenour/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home/ridenour/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 72

Use the manual update process to replace your WP files

    Hi Lori,

This could be easily fixed if you upload the files in question to your FTP server.

But due to the theme active and some functions that are being used by either theme or plugins inside the functions.php file it is the best to upload a complete wordpress.zip to your FTP server and extract it.

Then you should edit your WP-config.php file to with a proper Database credentials so that the connection with the Database is established.

Also, the guide that the Steve linked could be used as well.

    Kindly
