how to show latest event in event list

Hi I tried to change the weekday in wordpress settings but nothing makes a difference. Is there maybe a function that I can use to show the last match only.

Is your latest even already published? Or is it just scheduled?

Also, what theme are you using? What happens when you use a theme like twenty sixteen or rookie?

Hi thanks for your help, yes it happened when I used rookie as well. It is published, it is the last match played and they have added a review – video and want to have the event list as the last played match only so that they can click on the recap link.
It will only show matches from the beginning of time in ascending order regardless of what order I choose. If I select published it shows from beginning of time, if I select this week it shows nothing.

I already show scheduled for upcoming match. Just wondering if there is a function to output the last match played. I tried all the shortcode scenarios and I don’t want to have to get them to try and find out the code each week to place in there it should be an automation.

If I know where the function is for the output for this then I might be able to create a template widget ??

Meant to say even if it was in this week it won’t show. I have the settings day starts from before this week finished and it still won’t show.

Honestly I haven’t seen any of your themes showing the last match either so not sure if it has been done, has it?

OK working in my localhost same theme same data and it works but not on host server.

No matter if I change descending or ascending it won’t work, should I be selecting our club or something to make it work like it does on my local machine?

If it works at localhost and not in your live site this is probably an issue in your server.

You can isolate that by creating a new WP install in your live server and use a plugin like this one to move your local data to the live site:

We don’t have a function for that at the moment, just a widget
