    Hello.

After i upgraded my Supermag theme to the latest version, the Customizer is not working anymore! It goes to at white screen, and says, HTTP ERROR 500.

I have tried to load the Customizer from the front screen, and in the themes. The only thing i can get into related to the theme, is the Widgets.

The theme seems to be working allright besides the Customizer, but i need to do some tweaks here and there.

    Hope you can help me

    Michael

    Hello mgb1967 ,

Thank you for using our theme.

The error may come due to various reasons. Can you enable debugging in wp-config.php file and let us know the error.
    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

Also please clear and disable all cache( server, plugin cache ) and check .htaccess file too.

    Best Regards,
    Acme Themes

    Hey

i Have tried the debugging, and this is what it says when i go into Customizer..

Strict Standards: Redefining already defined constructor for class nggdb in /customers/e/a/8/gamle-dage.dk/httpd.www/blog/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/ngg-db.php on line 60 Strict Standards: Redefining already defined constructor for class nggPostThumbnail in /customers/e/a/8/gamle-dage.dk/httpd.www/blog/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/post-thumbnail.php on line 26 Strict Standards: Redefining already defined constructor for class nggNavigation in /customers/e/a/8/gamle-dage.dk/httpd.www/blog/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/navigation.php on line 50 Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Customize_Manager::register_section_type() in /customers/e/a/8/gamle-dage.dk/httpd.www/blog/wp-content/themes/supermag/acmethemes/customizer/customizer-pro/class-customize.php on line 68

I have checked .htaccess and it is fine. I also cleared the cache.

    Hello @mgb1967 ,

register_section_type(), was added in version 4.3.0 WordPress Core, that is causing error on Customizer. Please update your WordPress to latest version and let us know if problem solved.

We would like to recommend, always make sure that your WordPress installation( WordPress core, themes and plugins ) is up to date.

    Hello again

I would like to update my WP installation, but i do not dare, because i have the Nextgen gallery plugin installed, and i am very dependant on it. I have several thousand pictures, that rely on that plugin. The plugin is already semi broken, and if i upgrade WP, then i’m afraid that the plugin stops blank?

I could also upgrade Nextgen, but when i look at people’s comment on the plugins newer versions, then i don’t dare..

Is there another solution to my problem with Customize, other than to upgrade? Maybee a quick fix?

    Thanx

    Michael

    Hello @mgb1967 ,

Themes may be backwards compatible, but only for 3 major WordPress versions (version 4.4 if 4.7 is latest). see link here.

If you are not able to update WordPress, we would like to suggest to edit a line of theme https://themes.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/supermag/1.4.1/acmethemes/customizer/customizer.php, comment/delete line number 13. We hope it will solve the issue.

Again we would like to recommend, always make sure that your WordPress installation( WordPress core, themes and plugins ) is up to date.

    Best Regards,
    Acme Themes
