Can you please tell us which of all of the AOIWP settings causes this error though? I’m experiencing this on 3 different sites that I manage. I’d love to just uncheck whatever is causing this so that I don’t have to keep troubleshooting the same issue all of the time.

Not to mention that when I launch the sites the clients will be having the same issues or they’ll be unable to use the plugin at all.

I didn’t update the theme. I’m getting this issue even with a fresh WP install.

    Please advise.

Hi, can you provide more information. For example you say you get redirected but how are you redirected? Is it when you try to log in via the admin URL or other?

Can you also carry out a test. Disable all of your other plugins except this one. Then check to see if you still get redirected.

Right now this is the error that I’m getting: Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /wp-login.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Yesterday and before that I was getting the browser error that there were too many redirects. I can’t replicate it for some reason.

It’s definitely something to do with the changes made to the HTA Access file because I change the file name in order to temporarily fix it. As you can imagine though, that won’t be acceptable when I launch the site and regular users need to log in.

I’m 100% sure it’s that plugin as it’s actually the only plugin on right now on the site. I’ve already narrowed it down.

What do you mean by HTA Access file?

Okay, so today you receive a different error from the browser error messages you received the other two times. And you say this security plugin is the only plugin currently installed, is that correct?

which of the plugin settings directly impacts ones ability to log in? BRute Force, User Login, anything else?

Brute Force and User Login can have an impact when login into your website as admin. Is that what you mean? Are currently using one of the Brute Force features like Rename Login Page?

    Thread Starter astounddotmedia

    (@astounddotmedia)

i’m not renaming the page, no. But some of the other options are in place.

The issue is being caused by whatever settings impact a user’s ability to access the wp-login.php file. I haven’t renamed the page though.

Can you check the plugins log file under Dashboard? Is this the only plugin currently active?

Can you disable all Firewall Rules? Then carry out a test.

I figured it out. I had activated the login whitelist that only allows users to access the wp-login.php url if their IP address is on the whitelist. All is fixed now. Thank you for your help.
