Does it block Google Bots?
-
Hi guys,
I have been using this plugin for a year now.
I recently found out that if google bot tries to access to a file that it doesn’t exist this is considered as a threat so it is flagged as first attempt. Depending on your setting (lets say after 2 attempts I put into the black list) Google Bot ip will be added into the black list of offenders.
This is crucial to not happen.
It is possible that I am not an expert of this plugin so there is a default way to avoid this but checking into the settings, the only way is actually to add the ip manually into the white list but not everybody might be familiar with this issue or having experience in this.
So maybe can we improve the plug-in adding a sub section where you have by default a white list of ip addresses from famous bots like google bots or bing.Does anybody got this particular problem or I just missed a functionality into this plugin?
Regards
Donald
