• Hello AMP Team,

at the moment i use the wp mobile plugin to divide the appearance of my homepage for the different devices.

Now i think about to switch to AMP. I installed a test blog and in it the AMP plugin.

Unfortunately the behavior is not the way i need, thatswhy i want to use this way to solve some problems.

The problem: i use a theme that creates a custom start page, but the amp plugin uses the posts as start page. so
    My start page: https://rostocker.taxi

So what do you recommend, to have the content as start page when i use the amp plugin?

    Regards
    Colin

    Hey @colinschwebke

Thank you so much for using our plugin.

May I know how did you create the Front page of your website? Did you use any page builder plugin to create that page?

    Hello,

the theme i am using is named backstopthemes.com and is a further development of mysitemyway.com. you can download the themes here: https://backstopthemes.com. Its free.
I use the theme “construct”, but it doesn’t really matter, the themes are basically identical.

If you install the theme, you will see, that there is an admin area, where i can paste the content of the start page. Thats it. I don’t know, whats happening in the back and unfortunately i don’t understand, how the amp plugin works ??

The content itself is html + some shortcodes provided by the theme. Furthermore i can provide an admin account to take a look into my settings, plugins and so on.

    Regards
    Colin

    Hey @colinschwebke

We have made the plugin in such a way that it automatically adapts the content from your main site to the AMP site and make it look exactly same.

However, The theme which you are using is not generating AMP compatible output. That is a big problem in AMP. But we are trying our best to crack this impossible thing of making AMP compatible with all WordPress themes, so to solve this we came up with the solution called ‘Custom AMP Editor’. which is available beneath the WordPress page/post editor. With the help of that option, you will be able to control the output of the AMP content. So I recommend you, to use that option.

    Hope it helps.
