• Hi there. Huge fan of this plugin.

Content Views is creating a very large amount of transient entries in my wp_options table. I’ve had quite a few crashes due to the sheer amount of entries.

Any idea on how we can cut these down? I’m deleting the expired entries as fast as I can but I have a lot of visitors and it seems to be worse as page views go up.

    Thank you!

    Hello,
Content Views used transients for View data, with prefix pt-cv-, but they are expired and deleted automatically within 1 hour.
They will not harm your site performance.

Can you share more about transient entries you see in your wp_options table?
Do they have pt-cv- in their name?

    Thank you,

Yes, that’s exactly the prefix on the transient entries and there were a lot of them not deleted. They were expiring, however.

I’m sorry I cannot give you a most recent entry from the database as I’ve had to stop using your plugin and change to something else. Since uninstalling CV I no longer have a bloated wp_options table that crashes my database and website.

    I’m sorry to hear that.
If it happens to some users, it must be somethings wrong with Content Views.
But your site is the only case, I wish I had a chance to investigate this problem on your website environment.
    Best regards,

We have the same issue. Thousands of rows with pt-cv. Only using two content views.

    Thank you for contacting us.

    I apologize for the problem.
It is really strange issue which I can’t reproduce myself.
Each View only has 1 transient which expires within 1 hour, so your site shouldn’t have more than 2 transients.

I guess there was conflict with another plugin, or unexpected problem with your web hosting.
Please contact us here, our support will work with you to resolve this problem quickly.

Thank you so much for your collaboration.

We had over 8000, all which were set not to expire.
