    Hey Tobias,

    I hope you are well.

When you get a minute, please check out the search field on one of your tables when viewed on an iPad. Theres’s something weird about the formatting of the field.

On my version (v1.8), when a user starts typing in the field the box changes from a square input box to a rounded corner input box with each press of a letter, but only momentarily. This looks like a bug, so I thought I would bring it to your attention.

For reference, here’s the theme I’m using: https://appfinite.com/shop/aspire/

I would have posted the website I’m working on, but it’s a work-in-progress for a client. I can email you the link if you can tell me how to contact you offline. Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Does this happen with the TablePress Demo at https://tablepress.org/demo/ as well?

    Regards,
    Tobias

No, it doesn’t. It may be a conflict with my theme. From what I see, it looks like you have TablePress setup for a rounded rectangle search box, whereas my theme uses traditional rectangle search boxes. Is there anyway I can modify TablePress so it too is using rectangle search boxes?

    Hi,

the search field is a regular HTML input field with the “search” field type (which adds that tiny “X” to clear the field).
Beyond that, TablePress does not actually add any styling to the field.

As you mention that this only happens when entering something, I assume that your theme is not adding its styling for all scenarios, like an “active” field.
Could you therefore maybe contact your theme’s support team about this?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks! If that still doesn’t solve it, please email me the link to the page (my address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”), and I’ll have a look.
However, as all HTML input fields of the “search” type are probably affected, it should be better to fix this in the theme CSS.

    Regards,
    Tobias
