After updating WC to version 3.0 I can no longer set my (variable) products to ‘out of stock’.
On admin panel I go to products, search my product, select quick edit, change the stock from ‘in stock’ to ‘out of stock’, hit he save button and then my change is being set back to ‘in stock’. I ried several times, on several (variable) products. All the same. I can not longer manage my stock.
    Pls help. Thanks.

I had a back-up of my site before installing update 3.0 Woocommerce. Via FTP uploaded that backup. In my case my site is running perfectly again. Even with the (by Woocommerce 3.0) updated database. Hope this will help you/others too.

I will wait patiently for Woocommerce to release 3.01 version or later, so it will contain fixes for the bugs/issues that keep coming forward now.

VARIABLE products do not have such as field https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/wnxwnsm9tyyh4ac/2017-04-05%20at%2013.31.png The stock status is based entirely on the variations inside and their stock statuses.

OK, It worked for me, thanks Mike!

    Thx Mike and Sebastian.
This is how it works for me/my site: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0dk2u3rfm2rfqrm/AAAx3pp1c2DmLYLlwOiVhXXMa?dl=0
My products are meals to order per day. The variable product contains selections on amount, delivery and time. I switch the product to out of stock on main screen Woo products, through fast edit (see pictures), so it is no longer possible to order after 08.30 hours, the time I do my shoppings for cooking the meals. Perhaps I am not using the variable product as it was designed/ment to be, but it works fine for me/my site. Until WC 3.0 came along

Tested all again in testenvironment. The same issue comes up. WC 3.0 clearly infects my way of working. It is no longer possible to set the stock from in to out of stock manually on WooC products main page by quick edit on a product

Setting at variable level is not possible. It would be out of sync. It is important to note that the variable product is not what gets sold, it’s the variations. Thats why it syncs with those.

You could change the product status if it must not be brought at certain times.

Pitty. Setting at variable level (on my way) is perfectly working up till 2.6.14 for me. Too bad that has gone with 3.0 version. Why the change?
Product status change is no option, because I tested all my ordering varieties earlier on them and that does not work. I do not see an escape ;-(

I told you why the change. You can also bulk set status at variation level for the same effect.

Sry I must be stupid, but I do not know where you told WHY the change. I am also stupid for not understanding what you mean with you can also…… . How can I bulk set etc… I am a user not a developer. Sry for that, and for not being able to spend lots of euros to let experts solve this

It is not a personal offense. But how can people like me (users) cope with and solve all of these changes without being forced to bring in expensive expertise? Pls advice me what to do. Delete entire site, build up from scratch, hopefully not.. Is WC capable for my needs/site? … Theme developer has pulled back (theme no longer available/purchasable). Is this bye bye business/company? Business was up running, and glad-fully will be for the time I will not update to version 3.0

Edit the product. Go to the variations tab. There is a bulk edit box. Choose to set in stock or out of stock, in bulk. That updates all + the parent?

    Thread Starter EdwinWerner

    (@edwinwerner)

Thx. The parent just tried what you suggested. Unfortunately with bulk editing it is only possible to ‘toggle inventory management’ or to set inventory at an amount. There is no option for in or out of stock

So happy with 2.6.14 again. Simpel management of in and out of stock on overview page products, by quick edit on a product. Pls put that back on release 3.01

Tested 3.0.1 on staging for some time. Looked OK so I transferred it to live. It is OK (for now). Everything works like before (incl. stock management, thx Mike). One minor detail: quick edit (on product, chosen out of products total overview) is presenting an aberrant presentation comparing to 2.6.14 version. What was left on screen before, is now on screen in the middle => https://www.dropbox.com/s/4q70yyclt7cimej/Schermafbeelding%202017-04-08%20om%2021.16.35.png?dl=0
