Should this plugin update featured images in WPML pages?

We have a WPML site, with 4 languages in it. Each language pages is using the same featured image across each site for each page.

We used Enable Media Replace to replace the image with a different filename, which I thought meant it would update all references of the old filename with the new one.

Our main default language site has its images updated, but the WPML translated pages have not been updated, and I can clearly see the old filename (which is now deleted as part of the EMR process) being called, and so having a 404 on that image.

So is EMR supposed to replace images across all WPML pages and I have another issue, or does it not do this and so what we have is expected behaviour?
