I am a newbie with WordPress. I have created a site. It looks okay. At the bottom of the 2 pages in my site are the words “Inspired By” followed by the name of a person whose video I watched when creating my site. This is a link to his site. How can I remove this link? I do not see it while editing the page. I’m sure it’s something simple.

  • In case the theme doesn’t have an option to change the text you’ll have to edit the code manually inside the footer.php file. You can edit it from Appearance > Editor, but take note that you’ll need to change it again if the theme is updated, otherwise you could create a child theme so the changes won’t be overwritten.

May I have specific page url with issue to check and resolve?

Thank you, Ciprian Ionita. I don’t see the link in footer.php. What am I looking for exactly? Would it help if I posted the footer.php code?

Just search for the text ‘Inspired By’ with Ctrl+F and you’ll find it. If it’s not there it could be in another php file.

Oh! There are quite a few of those files.

You mentioned an option to update the theme. It it had this, where would I find it?

The theme options are usually in Appearance > Theme Options, in a separation section with the name of the theme or in Appearance > Customizer.
