• I just installed sermon manager on my Avada site and I used the shortcode to display it on the sermons page. I see it is using the look I created for my blog page but I would like to style it separately from the blog. Give it a different side bar but it won’t let me change it. What am I missing? Also, the tracking of the current page doesnt work on my main nav. (i.e. the little green bar at the top of sermons should be visible when Im on the sermons page) It stopped showing after I installed the plugin.

    Hi @amerzib,

Yeah so the Sermon Manager views will adopt the defaults from your theme, which is what you are seeing. There are two options around this:

    1. Enable the template views override via the plugin settings, this should force the views to use the plugin defaults.

    2. This is tied to option 1, since doing that will most likely mean your Sermon views don’t look right, or aren’t in the right container. This is common for themes that rely on a page builder to form page structures and bounds. So the solution here is to copy the PHP files found in the plugin ‘views’ folder, place them into the root of your theme and tweak them so they show up right. You should then also be able to dictate which sidebar shows up on those views, if any.

Sorry i’m not sure what you mean regarding the green bar ?? Could you send us a screenshot?

It looks like the filters at the top are also not showing up on the main sermon page. This to me suggests the theme is still using the old functions to output it. This old thread might help https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/audio-player-missing-on-sermon-posts/.

    Hope that helps,
    Igor

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to try to do what you describe here (with a little help from a friend) as Im new to this WP thing. ??

The green bar is the navigation styling as seen in the screen shot attached. When you’re on a certain page it shows up over top of that corresponding menu item.

Not sure how to upload here so Ive put it here for you to see:

I have the same issue with the blog sidebar showing on the sermons. I performed the steps described above (copying files, etc.) and do end up with a page that needs some tweaking. I use DIVI theme. The formatting issue I need help with is the left margin. I would like to have all the text on the page move to the right (currently is hugs the left of the screen) – can anyone give me a clue about what to do with the template to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance
