• Hi. I’m a newbie, trying out WordPress with the hopes of porting over my handcoded-HTML site. Been fiddling with the WP template system and CSS.
Here’s my question, and I hope I’ve worded it clearly. I’ve searched the forums and plug-ins, and haven’t come across something that addresses it, but I may have missed the info:
When I list my categories (say: work, personal, observations), can I work it so that the date of the most recent post appears under the name of the category?

    work
    updated: Sept. 4, 2004
    personal
    updated: Oct. 31, 2004
    observations:
    updated: Sept. 1, 2004

    Thanks,
    WMWP

  • It’s not exactly what you asked for, but it is close and perhaps you can figure out a way to tweak it to be what you’re looking for.
If you use list_cats; you can set optiondates=1 and then “the date of the last post in the category to be shown beside the category name”.

That is excellent. Thanks very much. I’ll try it out.
