    Hello!

I am looking to use the plugin, but have a custom template (based from one of the other designs). What would be the best way to go about this so It is safe when upgrades occur?

I was hoping to simply copy the design-1 folder and amend things the header and content areas, then use the custom css section of the plugin to style these.

    Hey @itsapardigan

Thank you so much for using our plugin.

Yes, you can create a custom template in a way you said. We made our plugin in a way, you won’t get any issues with custom templates even if you update our plugin.

Hope it helps. let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the response. What would you recommend for naming conventions? I didn’t want to simply add a number on incase you add further templates in the future.

We have written a tutorial on creating Custom Theme for AMP. you can see that here >

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Just to confirm (and check I’m not going crazy), this is simply creating a separate plugin and not actually using your ampforwp plugin? No problems if so, but just want to check!

    Hey @itsapardigan,

I apologize for the delay in response.

The reason why we recommend you, to create a separate plugin is to make our plugin update proof so that it won’t affect the plugin when you update it.

    Hope it helps.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

    Regards
    Marqas
