    Hi Guys

    I am using the WP Job Manager plugin and enjoying it.

    What I need help with is I would like to have the search form (filters) on my home page without automatically displaying any jobs beneath. Once someone does a search then the results will be displayed on my jobs page.

    I have seen numerous forum queries which I think may relate to this but am not sure and they all involve coding (which is over my head) and dont always say where the ‘code’ etc should be put.

    I am a complete novice and would really appreciate some help so that I can simply have a search form on a page and the results displayed elsewhere.

    Many thanks
    Dee

    Hi Dee,

    Thanks for using WP Job Manager!

    I’d suggest using this shortcode:

    [jobs show_filters=true keywords=qwerty]

    Basically, you’ll set a default search keyword for something that shouldn’t be in any job on your site. This will return an empty result and only once the users perform the search, will the results be displayed.

    Let me know if that works for you.

    Thanks,
    Davor

    Hi Davor

    Thank you for getting back to me.

    Unfortunately this didnt work because:

    1. The word qwerty comes up in the keyword block;
    2. Under the search block is says: “There are no listings matching your search”;
    3. And then when you do a search the results still come up on the home page and not redirected to the jobs page?

    Im simply looking for a search box on the home page which when a search is done it takes you to the results on the jobs page?
    This do-able?

    Thanks
    Dee

    Hi Davor

    Thank you. I have tried this. I created a job-manager directory in the theme folder and added hob-filters.php to the directory. But it isnt working?

    Any ideas? Do I need to change anything else or have I put it in the wrong place?

    Thanks
    Dee
