    Hi guys,

I don’t know whether this is for you guys or the WPML team, but the string translation module in WPML is not picking up the strings for the tabbed product page labels. Here are the details:

    I am trying to:
Translate the tab labels on the Tabbed Product Page. I removed the custom labels from the Product Details Tab Label, Additional Information Tab Label and Contact Us Tab Label and added the Chinese translations to those fields in the String Translation module.

URL of (my) website where problem appears:
    https://www.preowned.karlmayer.com/

    I expected to see:
Chinese language translations of the tab labels

    Instead, I got:
    The original English language labels

    Steps to duplicate the issue:
Remove the custom labels from those fields in the Product Catalogue > options > labelling field, and add the Chinese translations to the same fields in the Strong Translation module.

NOTE: because the translation is not working I’ve re-added the custom labels, which are dual language, to those fields, so that is what is currently being displaid.

  • Hi Martin,

WPML’s string translation should find it, it’s just that most of the tab labels are broken up into two parts.

For example, you will have to do one search in String Translation for “Product” and another search for “Details” and translate them separately. Same goes for “Additional” and “information” and any other tab that has multiple words.

    Hi there,

That did the trick – many thanks!

    Cheers,

    Martin.
