Facebook comments are visible sometimes – and sometimes they aren’t visible!

  • I lost all of my FB comments when I rebuilt my site recently so I’m starting over. The problem now is that my FB comments are visible sometimes and sometimes they aren’t. I tried three different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) with caches cleared and I’m having the same issue. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

    UPDATE:
    1) The problem with the FB comments and comment boxes (and the FB Like app) not appearing or appearing is totally intermittent. For example: I opened a page on my site with my iPhone using Safari and the FB like button (different app) and the Facebook comments and comment boxes weren’t visible. I opened the exact same page on my computer and they were visible. About an hour later the same page on iPhone with Safari was showing the FB comments and the FB Like button (different plugin) but then when I opened that page on Chrome with my computer the comments, comment boxes and Like button weren’t visible but were on my computer using Firefox. Since the FB LIKE button which is a totally different plugin doesn’t appear when the FB comments don’t appear, then the issue is clearly going on with Facebook, right?

    2) Another problem is that about 15 FB comments that were on my site earlier today have totally disappeared and now there are only 4 comments showing when the plugin is working. When I open my Facebook Moderation Tool I can see all the comments under the “Public” tab but all the names of the FB commenters that disappeared today are no longer linked to their FB accounts – meaning that their names are just black text and not linked. The four comments that still appear on my site (when the plugin is working) have names that are linked to their FB account like normal.
