• I used to use ithemes security (basic package) for some time without problems. However, recently every time I activate it, it disables my login. A message comes up “This has been disabled”

  • Hey @martinibates

    What specifically has been disabled, your admin account or just the iThemes Security plugin?

    Is your WordPress installed as part of a domain (.com, .co.uk etc) or is it as part of a www.ads-software.com shared hosting platform? If your operating a domain hosted by an ISP, do you have the login details for your domain?

    Best wishes

    Hi,

    My site is a .com hosted by 123reg. I ran ithemes for months with no problem. However, now when it is activated the next time I try to log (via .com/wp-admin) I get the message ‘This has been disabled’. If I then enter the site through WordPress and disable the plugin I can get straight back in. Yesterday I was looking at settings and in file permissions it was suggesting I change the value of wp-config.php and .htaccess from 644 to 444. I wondered if this was the problem and I need to go into my host files and changes these?

    @martinibates

    The “This has been disabled” msg is related to the iTSec plugin Hide Backend module. So under normal circumstances disabling the Hide Backend module should make the standard wp-admin slug work again.

    Many thanks – I’ll give it a try.
