Payment gateway for payment in cash at physical store

Hi there,

I need a way to differentiate between payments in cash at a physical store (combined with the Local Pickup shipping method), and payments in cash at the customer’s location (combined with actual shipping services, such as Flat Rate shipping).

The reason for this is that, at least in Greece, these are considered totally different payment methods, with a different name, and each one should only be allowed depending on the chosen shipping method, as I mentioned above.

There are also extra fees applied by the courier companies for picking up the cash upon delivery, since this is considered a service provided to the sender. Obviously, these fees should not be applied when the customer pays at the physical store, in cash.

I have used this plugin in the past, which actually clones the native Cash on Delivery gateway for that purpose, but is outdated and causes issues with recent WP/WC versions:

I was wondering if such conditions are common in other parts of the world, and how they’re dealt with. I would prefer to avoid implementing yet another clone of the CoD gateway, due to maintainability concerns.
