Hi, I know from the plugin FAQ that “A user needs the edit_users capability in order to switch user accounts. By default only Administrators have this capability, and with Multisite enabled only Super Admins have this capability.”

I’m using Woocommerce 3.0.5, and with the User Role Editor plugin I can see that my Shop Manager users have the edit_users permission (not sure whether this is be default or set by another plugin that I was previously using). However, even with this permission enabled, they don’t get the option to switch to another user.

I’d like for my Shop Manager users to have the ability to switch to all roles below them (all roles other than Admin and Super Admin). How can this be achieved?

I’m also using multisite, and I’ve also noticed from the plugin FAQ that the User Switching for Regular Admins plugin is required for regular admins of multisites to switch users. I’m wondering whether the case is also similar for Shop Managers of multisites to switch users?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

This sort of request comes up every now and then. User Switching doesn’t support this sort of customisation out of the box, but it can be achieved via the filters in the plugin’s code. You’d need someone with a good amount of experience with the user roles and capabilities API in WordPress though.

Take a look through the previous support threads on here and you should be able to find previous discuss on this.
