Where is the user role information stored?

  • I just imported a host of users into the wp_users table. This worked beautifully, but the new users are not assigned a role and there’s nowhere I can find in the WP database that clearly assigns the role of each user.

    With a few exceptions that I can handle manually, I want to give everyone subscriber privileges without manually having to do this for each user in admin.

    I guess I found the answer to my question… it’s in the wp_usermeta table… which strikes me as a bit odd as it requires an additional entry for each user.

    This part of the question belongs in the plugins forum, but is anyone aware of a plugin to select multiple users and assign the same role each of them?
