Downloadable product stays “On-hold” after PayPal successful payment

  • Hello!

    As the title says, when someone pays with PayPal (I’m using the built-in gateway with Woocommerce) the order stays On-Hold instead of completed or processing.

    I’ve ticked the option in the settings which says that it’ll give access to the customer to download the product, after the payment has been made. However, apparently, this doesn’t work.

    What should I do?

  • Is this 100% of the time?

    There are cases where users pay on PayPal and never return to the website, leaving the order in a incomplete state.

    If you have your IPN setup, that should not be the case though.
    Are you logging your PayPal interactions in Woo?
