Image Caption Appearing in Excerpt

The display of the image is controlled by your theme. It looks like a featured image, so you could check and see if there are any options in your theme for controlling the featured image display.

In MyCurator we have an Option to “Use Post Title for Image Title & Alt Tag” that if you clear it will use whatever titles and tags the image has originally, which many times is none.

You can also edit the image in the Media library and take out the captions.

The image is actually displaying fine and the caption is being converted to the title. However, the actual caption is being treated as body text and inserted into the MyCurator summary. Stopping this might require blocking a CSS class – is that possible?

MyCurator just attaches the image to the post as a featured image. The display is completely handled by your theme. The theme will control all of the CSS used to display the pos and he image. Most themes have some ways to enter custom CSS. You could ask the theme provider what CSS you might need to change to block the caption from being displayed.

Got it. How does MyCurator process the text that is provided as an excerpt (i.e. what are the parameters)?

In the Options menu item, Format tab is an option “Excerpt length in words:” that you can set to the number of words in the excerpt. The excerpt is always taken from the beginning of the article. You can easily change the excerpt in the WordPress editor. The full text is in the Saved Page metabox below the post, and you can just click on any yellow highlighted paragraph to add to your post.
